A Curvy Girl’s Honest Aerie Try-On Review (With Sizing Tips!)

From Bras to Pajamas

My Aerie Latest ORDER + Try-On

As your resident undergarment expert (and comfort enthusiast), I’m always on the lookout for pieces that feel as good as they look. In my latest Aerie try-on, I found some real standouts, from lightweight underwear and cozy bralettes to activewear you can live in and pajamas so good I grabbed them in more colors. While not every bra was a match for me, the comfort-first pieces that did work have earned a permanent spot in my wardrobe. Whether you’re lounging at home or running errands, these finds strike the perfect balance of style and ease.

Bralettes & Undies

As a 38GG/H, I decided to be brave and try everything in an XXL… and honestly, I was surprised that it all fit. I especially loved that the bralettes have a hook-and-eye back, so you can actually adjust them for a better fit (a rare find in this category).

The undies were the biggest surprise. I’ve heard people rave about them for years, but finally decided to try them myself in both XL and XXL. The Smootheez were hands-down my favorite, if you love the feeling of wearing nothing, these will be your new go-to. They’re breathable, lightweight, and ridiculously comfortable.

The bralette is a total lounge-day dream (even bedtime approved), and the other undies feel barely there. For reference, I wear an XXL in everything here, and Aerie’s size range runs XXS–XXL.

Athleticwear

The fabric on these pieces is buttery-soft and feels so gentle against the skin. If you’re looking for high compression, these aren’t it but that’s exactly why I’m keeping them for Pilates and lounge days. The bra tops are cute, but they ran quite cropped on me, especially with a fuller bust. I wish Aerie offered a long or tall option because I love the idea of a matching set, just with a little more coverage. If you’re petite or have a shorter torso, these could be perfect for you.

Everything was super comfortable, and the standout for me was the lightweight anorak jacket (XL). It’s the perfect throw-on piece, I’ll be wearing it over activewear and pairing it with jeans well into fall.

Soft, stretchy, and ready for movement, the leggings fit like a glove without feeling restrictive. The tops work in or out of the gym, and the skort is a fun, easy swap for shorts. Perfect for errands, workouts, or casual days at home. Just a warning for my fellow tall gals, it does run short!

For reference, I’m wearing an XXL in all tops, an XXL in the skort, and an XL in leggings.

PajamAs & Lounge

Like wrapping yourself in a cloud, that’s the only way to describe these pajamas. I loved the fabric so much that, after forgetting to grab the matching top for my pajama pants, I placed another order for it and the coordinating shorts. No regrets.

Aerie’s signature oversized popover sweatshirts are also a staple for me, lightweight, comfy, and perfect for travel, lounging, or tossing on after a workout. And as a tennis lover, I couldn’t pass up their tennis sweatshirt and matching sweatshorts. I’ve been wearing that set nonstop; it’s the perfect mix of sporty and cozy.

For reference, I’m wearing an XL in all tops and XXL in bottoms here.

STRIPED SET

I wore this striped set to visit a friend at the beach a couple of weekends ago, and it was perfect, layered with a tank for the drive and doubling as a cover-up over a navy swimsuit. I love that you can wear the pieces together or separately. I’m in an XL top and XXL bottoms.
