Backyard Refresh: Our Outdoor Furniture, Pergola & End-of-Season Setup
DRESS (XXL) | SANDALS | SIMILAR CUSHIONS | OUTDOOR SOFA | OUTDOOR CHAIRS | SIMILAR END TABLE
As we approach the end of patio season (sob), I figured now was the perfect time to share a peek at our backyard setup, just in time to start thinking about storing it all away! This post has been a long time coming, and I’m excited to walk you through the details of our outdoor space, including the Sunvilla Stratus 10x13 motorized pergola and the Sunville Swann 10-piece modular patio sectional, both available at Costco. These pieces were generously gifted from SunVilla, and I’m so grateful to have had the chance to incorporate them into our space. They truly transformed how we enjoy our yard.
We also used TaskRabbit (now newly available in Buffalo!) to help get everything set up and take away the boxes, highly recommend. If you’re not familiar, it’s an app that connects you with reliable Taskers for everything from furniture assembly to home projects, which made this process way less overwhelming.
Why We Chose These Outdoor Pieces
(and Why We Love Them)
Sunvilla Stratus 10x13 Motorized Pergola
This pergola is next level. It’s sleek, modern, and fully motorized, meaning with the push of a button, you can open or close the louvers to control shade and airflow depending on the weather. We’ve used it during sunny days and light rain, and it holds up beautifully in both. Some of my favorite features:
Remote-controlled louvers (with a hidden solar panel that charges them!)
Built-in LED lighting for evening ambiance
Sturdy aluminum frame that feels high-end and durable
Minimalist design that complements just about any style of outdoor furniture
It really turns the backyard into a cozy extension of our home, and it’s surprisingly easy to install (especially if you have a TaskRabbit helper).
Sunvilla Swann 10-Piece Modular Sectional Set
This set is not only beautiful, but super practical for entertaining large groups or just lounging as a family. The modular pieces are easy to reconfigure based on your space or needs, and the quality is chef’s kiss. A few things to love:
All-weather wicker + fade-resistant cushions
10 pieces, including a coffee table and multiple seating arrangements
Hidden clips to keep the pieces from sliding around
Neutral tones that go with everything (but don’t show every speck of dirt )
Comfort level: BK-approved for afternoon naps and toddler climbing sessions
It also comes with all-weather covers, which is great for extending the life of the cushions as we move into colder months.
Finishing Touches for Outdoor Living
It’s the little things that make a space feel complete, and these are the pieces we used over and over again this season:
Unbreakable Wine Glasses: A standout find this year. They look sleek, feel great in hand, and have survived multiple tumbles on the patio. A must for outdoor entertaining, especially with a toddler running around.
Circular Serving Trays: These trays have become a go-to for snacks, drinks, and corralling the random stuff that always seems to end up outside. The clean lines and neutral color tie in perfectly with our new setup.
Water-Resistant Throw Pillow Covers + Inserts: A super simple way to add comfort and color without worrying about the weather. I rotate throw pillows seasonally, and these held up beautifully in both sun and rain.
Fire Table: This was our favorite way to wind down on cooler nights. It adds warmth and ambiance, and makes even a casual backyard evening feel like a getaway.
Seasonal Storage Solutions
As much as I love setting up a space, storing it all away at the end of the season is just as important. Here are a few MVPs that help keep everything organized year after year:
The Big Blue Bags: These are hands-down our favorite. We use them for everything, but especially to store summer pool towels once the season wraps. They’re durable, affordable, and come in a 6-pack (because trust me, one is never enough).
Oversized Patio Cushion Storage Bag: If you’re looking for a way to store outdoor cushions without them taking over your garage, this bag is it. It’s roomy enough for our entire sectional and makes cleanup way less chaotic.
Conrad’s Outdoor Toy Storage Bin: This was a new addition this summer, and I love how much it holds. It kept all of Conrad’s outdoor toys in one place, and it’ll be just as helpful when we pack everything up for winter.
Extra Totes, Always: Between pool toys, throw pillows, and random patio odds and ends, you can never have too many totes. I grabbed a simple 6-pack and use them constantly, highly recommend for quick seasonal swaps.

A quick note: the pergola and sectional featured in this post were generously gifted from SunVilla and are available at Costco.
